Back To MAC, for anyone who is unaware, is a program which is run by MAC Cosmetics to recycle old packaging. As a brand which is openly committed to saving the environment, this program was designed to encourage customers to recycle.

MAC accepts primary packaging such as empty lipstick bullets, single eyeshadow and powder compacts, for example, to be returned to store. By returning 6 items of packaging to a MAC counter, you will receive in exchange a lipstick of your choice. However, this excludes Viva Glam and Limited Edition Lipsticks.

Many of the products have a logo on the cardboard box which it comes in, as shown in the photo above, to show you that the item inside is included in the Back To MAC program, the cardboard however, doesn't count as one of your products.

The only issue being is that you cannot return or exchanged the lipstick you have received free of charge, so make the decision on your new lipstick very carefully because there is no option to change your mind, even if the product is untouched.

So save your MAC products once empty and get yourself a new FREE lipstick! And remember that however small the gesture may be, you have played a
small part in helping save the environment.
