Last night, ITV aired a special one off programme called 'Manchester: 100 Days After the Attack' which highlighted how the city responded to the tragedies and touched on the lives of some of the victims and survivors, and how their lives have changed since the night.


It is unlikely that you haven't heard about it, but in case you haven't, after an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena back in May, a suicide bomber detonated a improvised device in the foyer which killed 22 and injured many. It was the deadliest terrorist attack in the UK since the London Bombings in 2005.

If you've read any of my previous posts, you may already know that I was at the concert with friends on the night of the terrible attack. Luckily I was unharmed, as were my friends but it has left us quite mentally scarred, as you can imagine, and still to this day brings challenges to us on a regular basis.

It's something you never expect to witness and even now, loud noises or hearing/seeing things which remind us of the night are extremely upsetting and it is hard to imagine how we went to a concert to see one of our favourite artists and other fans never left there alive.

At first I was unsure whether I wanted to watch the programme, I didn't really know what it was going to show but the thought of it scared me. Would I cry? Yes. I knew I would. Would it bring back memories? Yes. But in the end I decided it would maybe be a good thing, watching it and understanding more of what went on following the attack was somewhat comforting. Even though people lost their lives or were injured, it still had a massive impact on mine and may others lives from then on.

It features interviews with survivors and the families of those who tragically lost their lives. Some scenes are very upsetting but I would definitely recommend giving it a watch if you are able to.

UPDATE: Since writing this post I have watched it several more times. Even now, seeing it and hearing what happened still makes me feel numb. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it but there's something which makes me want to keep watching it over and over again.

After leaning to drive for what literally feels like a lifetime, I have finally passed my driving test!

I was so so nervous the morning of my test but once I got driving, I was absolutely fine and in the end it is really nothing to worry about. I'm so glad that I managed to keep my nerves under control, but all in all, nerves mean that you care and there is nothing wrong with that.

Being told that you have passed is probably one of the best feelings you will ever experience in your life. It's taken me less than a year of having driving lessons and now it's something that I will have for the rest of my life (providing I am sensible with it, of course!)

If you are considering starting lessons, it is so worth it. I would recommend saving a little bit of money up first so you don't get to a point where you unfortunately have to stop lessons because you can no longer afford it. But as long as you can afford to do so, it is something which is really beneficial to have, not just now but forever.

And if you've already started lessons, then good luck for your test! Sometimes it feels like you are going to be learning forever but you will get through it in the end.

When I saw that another Glow Kit was being released, I knew I had to buy it, and I was really looking forward to trying it out. Many of the other kits have some unusual colours which you wouldn't first think of for a highlighter, and this palette is no different. But the first thing that struck me about this is that it is a mixture of so many brightly coloured highlighters in one palette, compared to the Moonchild Glow Kit, for example, where they are all blue toned.

Having previously tried so many other Glow Kits, I knew exactly what to expect from them and they certainly lived up to all expectations. As with the others, what may first look scary in the pan, all the shades are really wearable and look beautiful on the skin, even for someone like myself who has very fair skin.

The Aurora Glow Kit costs £39 which I think is well priced for 6 highlighters of such a high quality, however, as the shades aren't your typical go-to for a highlighter, it may put some people off paying so much money for something which they fear may not suit them. But I really think that breaking away from the generic shades is what makes it so unique as a palette and is definitely worth giving a go.

The pans are slightly smaller than those in the Glow Kits with only 4 shades. However, I don't personally think this is too much of an issue as they are all so pigmented that you don't need to use a lot of product on each application so they'll still last forever. It also means that the palette isn't too bulky but you still get a fair amount of product in total.

There are 6 shades in the palette, Eclipse (champagne with a pinky-peach reflect), Luna (pearl with a purple orchid reflect), Spectra (lilac with a blue-green reflect), Helia (yellow gold with a turquoise reflect), Orion (blue with a purple reflect) and Lyra (rose gold with a champagne reflect). All the shades are incredibly pigmented and can be built up for an intense glow or applied lightly for a more natural look. They also look incredible mixed together!

If you're yet to try a Glow Kit, I would definitely say to go for it! There are so many different ones available now there is something to suit everyone. If you are considering buying the Aurora Glow Kit, I would also definitely recommend it, it's the same great quality as the others and definitely won't disappoint. I have tried so many of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kits in the past and I have loved them all, but I was really debating whether or not to give this one a go. The shades are quite dark and as I have pale skin, I wasn't sure if they'd suit me and it is a lot of money to spend on something that you're not going to use. In the end however, I decided to give it a go.

I'd tried quite a few Glow Kits before this one, and they were as good as the rest so it definitely isn't one which will disappoint. At first the shades look quite impractical for someone with fair skin like myself but when they are actually applied from the skin they look beautiful and are not too dark.

This Glow Kit costs £39, which is the same price as the Moonchild Glow Kit, despite having two less shades. However, the quality of the product, in my personal opinion, justifies the price. You are definitely getting what you pay for. The shades are wearable whatever your skin tone, they aren't too dark on fair skin or too pale on darker skin, so this palette will definitely appeal to a wider range of people.

There are 4 shades in the palette, Bronzed (amber with a copper toned finish), Tourmaline (warm taupe with a rose gold finish), Moonstone (quartz with a pearl finish) and Summer (sand toned with a white gold finish). All 4 shades, as always, are incredibly pigmented and can be applied with a light dusting or built up for a more intense glow.

If you're yet to try a Glow Kit, I would definitely say to go for it! They are definitely worth the investment if you're really into makeup and I don't regret purchasing any of the ones I own. Anyone in the UK wanting to buy this palette can do so directly from the ABH website here.
